Open Access Policy of Crossroads
Crossroads is firmly committed to the principles of Open Access, in alignment with global initiatives such as the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and Plan S, advocating for the free and immediate availability of scholarly research to all. We believe that open, unrestricted access to knowledge fosters intellectual exchange, enhances academic visibility, and democratizes education globally.
Key Features of Our Open Access Policy:
1. Immediate and Unrestricted Access:
All content published in Crossroads is available freely and immediately upon publication. There are no subscription fees, registration requirements, or paywalls. Readers worldwide can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to full-text articles without barriers.
2. Licensing and User Rights:
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
Under this license:

Users may share, copy, and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

Users may remix, transform, and build upon the material for non-commercial purposes.

3. Author Retention of Copyright:
Authors retain full copyright over their work. By publishing in Crossroads, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish the work and identify Crossroads as the original place of publication.
4. Green Open Access and Archiving Rights:
Crossroads supports Green Open Access. Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit their pre-prints (submitted versions), post-prints (accepted versions), and published versions (VoR) of their manuscripts in institutional repositories, personal websites, or academic networking platforms such as ResearchGate and Academia.edu, without embargo.
5. No Article Processing Charges (APCs):
To ensure accessibility and equity, Crossroads does not charge any fees for submission, processing, or publication of articles. We are committed to fostering inclusive participation in academic discourse, regardless of institutional or geographical resources.
6. Ethical Open Access Practices:
We uphold ethical publishing practices as outlined by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and DOAJ’s Open Access principles. We ensure transparency, integrity, and accountability in our editorial and review processes.
